Making All Voices Count Community of Practice Meeting

CLCB attended the Making all Voices Count Community of Practice Meeting. The meeting centred on Open Government Partnership, particularly the third OGP National Action Plan under the theme P4Partnership- Strengthening Partnership in fostering OGP Commitments. The session was attended by officials from various Civil Society Organisations, tertiary institutions and government departments.  

Business Climate Benchmark Meeting

The aim of the meeting was to create a platform for municipalities and businesses to discuss how the municipality business environment can be improved to accommodate effective municipal-business collaboration and increase foreign investment.  

Business Trade Fair

To close off the Business Climate Benchmark Project, CLCB in Collaboration with the Holland Business Chamber hosted a Business Trade Fair. The trade fair enabled a networking platform for the participating municipalities and various South African based Dutch owned businesses to interact and establish relations that could potentially lead to great partnerships and investments.

EU-LA Mining Programme Launch

The EU-LA Mining Programme was officially launched by CLCB and its partners VNG-International and Musina Local Municipality on 24 April 2018. The purpose of the launch was to introduce the programme to the broader public, particularly the government, and the mining sector and development practitioners.  

Europe Day

On 9 May 2018, CLCB was part of the Europe Day celebrations. This is a day set aside to celebrate the existence of the European Union (EU) and to network. The event was attended by a multitude of African and European delegates.  

Thabazimbi Mining Forum

The EU-LA Mining Programme partnered with Thabazimbi Local Municipality for their second mining forum. The aim of the forum was to create a platform for the municipality and the mining companies within their jurisdiction to identify ways to respond to the common interests of both parties for socio-economic development in Thabazimbi.  

Mineral Law in South Africa Workshop

European Union (EU) Day

20 May 2019 was what has been marked in history as EU day (European Union day). EU delegations together with the European Investment bank, South African counterparts in Government, Civil Society Organizations, and the Business Community all gathered to celebrate the existence of the EU.
